None Other Like You
(Psalm 145-147)
|
The Psalmist
declares we are to praise God for His mighty works.
The greatness of His Majesty, the sustainer of the
universe, the source of all our supply, the lifter
of our souls. |
There is None Other Like You, Lord, the same
My
heart sings at the mention of your name
For
you count the stars above
Give
your gift of perfect love
Lift
my spirit like a dove and
that is why
I
will meditate on you, Lord, both
day and night
I
was blind and you gave me eyes to see
Touched my doubtfulness and now I believe
For
you, Lord, can make me glad
Heed
my prayers if I just ask
There is none a task too difficult for thee
Wondrous are your sweet, tender mercies,
Lord, unto me
You’re the author of my faith
It
is good to give you praise
And I offer all my days up to thee

InThe Day
Of My Trouble
(Psalm 9)
|
-Prayer and
Thanksgiving for the Lord's righteous judgments-
When adversity strikes or it seems the enemy is
working overtime to bring down our walk with God,
this Psalm declares the Lord's judgments will be
against those who are against Him but he will always
be for us.
In your day of trouble, do not forget the Lord is
always with you. |
When
I’ve looked high and I’ve looked low
But
no one understands me
You
hear me cry, you feel my pain
And
offer me your mercy
In
The Day of My Trouble
When
I need peace, to be released
A
refuge from oppression
You
reach inside and breathe new life
I’m
free in my salvation
In
The Day of My Trouble
Those who know your name and
put their trust in You
You
never turn away, Your
promise stays the same
The wicked flee and fall to their own deeds
By Your almighty hand, they cannot bare to stand
In
The Day of My Trouble
You
know my need before I speak
And
stretch your hand to meet me
My
cause you keep so I can sleep
My
enemy is weakened
In
The Day of My Trouble

Happy is He
(Psalm 32)
|
-The Joy of
Forgiveness-
Having joy over being forgiven does not only affect
the emotional side of us but also the physical. The
body is now full of energy because it is free in
soul. The shackles of sin have been lifted away and
our hearts are free to love at their greatest
potential. |
So
sad the man who
keeps things inside
Trying to hide his sins from you
Until the heat of your stare
Beats down like the sun of the summer
(Chorus)
But
Happy is He whose sins are forgiven
Whose heart sings because of God’s grace
The
love that’s abounding,
God’s mercy surrounds him
And
follows him all of his days
Happy is He whose sins carry no more weight
Day
in, day out he
carries around
The
guilt of his years
His
fears, until he can no longer be strong
And
hold all the pieces together
(Chorus)
And
happy is the man who prays before he’s met by troubled days
The
Lord will guide the steps he takes and
give him wisdom

Waterfall
(Psalm 42)
|
-Yearning for
God in the midst of distress-
The Psalmist declares the ultimate course of action
in any distress is to hope to the end, no matter how
bleak the outcome appears to be. In this Psalm water
symbolizes the presence of the Holy Spirit. |
My soul cannot bear the pain
All
my troubled tears fall like rain that
is colored gray
My
soul moans and calls for you
Come
and take my hand
Lead
me through to a brand new day
I
remember when I sang my songs to you
When
the presence of your joy would fill the room
Now
I cannot find my way
And
I know that I’ve been shaken
Don’t leave me forsaken
Oh
Lord, wash over my soul like a waterfall
Let
your waves of grace come over me
Quench my thirst with living water
‘Til
my spirit is renewed
‘Til
I know that I know
My
hope alone is You

You Are My Strength
(Psalm 18)
|
-God the
Sovereign Savior-
David sings this Psalm to the Lord after he was
delivered from the hand of his enemies and from
Saul. He compares God's intervention on his behalf
to spectacular cataclysms in nature. |
Well, the Lord heard my cry when the
Enemy tried to snare me to my grave
So
the heavens split wide with a bolt of light
And the earth began to shake
Then
with awe and fear I saw the Lord appear
On
the wings of the wind
And
the darkness became as the light of day
With
the glory of Him!
(Chorus)
I
love you Lord, I love you Lord, I love you Lord
You
Are My Strength
Then
the Lord thundered down with His
Bow
and arrow and He scattered all my foe
With
a mighty roar He exposed the core
Of
the land and sea below
Then
he stretched His hand to save me and
He
brought me to this place
He
delights in me when I choose to please Him and
Walk
in His ways
I
need you Lord, I need you Lord, I need you Lord
You
Are My Strength
Now
I stand among all those who’ve won
The
crown of victory
And
the men of fame who mocked my name
Now
all look up to me
For
the Lord’s salvation is my shield
He
stooped to make me great
I
will sing anew the praises due
To
His almighty name
I
praise you Lord, I praise Lord, I praise you Lord
You
Are My Strength
The
Lord is faithful to all those who are faithful
The
Lord is good to all those who are good
The
Lord is merciful to all those who show mercy
The
Lord is true to those who show themselves true

You Know Me
(Psalm
139)
|
-God's Perfect
Knowledge of Man-
The Psalmist declares that the Lord is not only the
God of the universe, but also intimately knows us as
our Heavenly Father. |
If I could count how
many times you think of me
Then I’d reach down and
count the sands upon the beach
You know the words I’m
going to say before I speak
You Know Me, You Know
Me, You Know Me
You knew my frame
before the day that I was born
You knew my name before
my parents gave it thought
You fashioned my days
when as yet, they were not
You Know Me, You Know
Me, You Know Me
So I will praise you,
Lord, for I am wonderfully made
The father of creation
thinks that I am great
Marvelous are you, oh
Lord, and marvelous your ways
And that my soul knows
very well
You know my wanderings
and when I’ve had my fill
You know my giving-ins
and my own stubborn will
The knowing that you
know me, Lord, is such a thrill!
You Know Me, You Know
Me, You Know Me

Mercy Everlasting
(Psalm 103)
|
-Praise to the
God of Love-
The Lord who forgives, who redeems us from the pit
of hell, is slow to anger and does not punish us
according to our sins. His love is available to all
who draw close to Him. |
Your mercy, Lord, is
everlasting
And your loving
kindness flows to all the earth
Your mercy, Lord, is
everlasting
And your loving
kindness flows to all the earth
You took my sin and
cast its shadow far from me
My spirit dances like
the moonbeams on the sea
I will sing a song to
bless your holy name
I will sing a song of
praise, sing a song of praise!
Your mercy, Lord, is
everlasting
And your loving
kindness flows to all the earth
Your mercy, Lord, is
everlasting
And your loving
kindness flows to all the earth
You heal my sickness
and my heart when I’m oppressed
You lift me up and put
a crown upon my head
For your love extends
far as the heavens lie
I will lift your name
on high, lift your name on high!

The Lord Alone
(Psalm 27)
|
-David's
exuberant declaration of faith-
The hope of God's goodness helped to sustain David
through battle with his enemies. He not only wanted
victory, but to dwell in the house of the Lord all
of his days. Who are we to fear when it is the Lord
himself who reigns over all? |
(Chorus)
The
Lord Alone is my light and my salvation
Whom
shall I fear, whom shall I fear?
The
Lord Alone is my light and my salvation
Whom
shall I fear, whom shall I fear, whom shall I fear?
The
enemy seeks to devour my life
He
plots his evil deeds to
bring me to my knees
Though armies strong surround me on all sides
They’re no match for my God,
He’ll set me on a rock
And
one by one they will stumble as they come for me!
(Chorus)
Though my oppressors try to rise again
Of
this I surely know they
can’t destroy my soul
The
Lord will hide me in His holy tent
Far
from the sting of death my
heart will be at rest
And
I will sing of the mercies of The King of kings!
(Chorus)
One
thing I ask, one thing I seek
To
live in God’s house and behold His beauty
Wait
on the Lord; He’ll make you strong
When
your need is great I
say wait, wait on the Lord!
(Chorus)

Wash Me Clean, Lord
(Psalm 51)
|
-A Prayer of
Repentance-
David became the greatest king of Israel following
Saul, an insane and corrupt man who ended his reign
with suicide in the midst of battle. But in a
moment of weakness, David slept with Bathsheba, the
wife of Uriah and had Uriah killed. This Psalm is
David's cry to the Lord, asking not just for
forgiveness but for purity; not just for comfort but
for complete cleansing. |
Wash
Me Clean, Lord, cleanse me
Of
the stain upon my heart
For
my sin goes before me against only You
Wash
me white like snowfall
Till
I hear the sound of joy
And
my lips open only with the truth
And
with your mercy, I’ll be restored
And
with your grace, I’ll find my joy
Then
I can teach what I have learned
And
spread the seeds till your return
Wash
me, Lord, with kindness
And
remember not my shame
That
your wisdom becomes the very
heart of me
Wash
Me Clean, Lord, Cleanse me
Till
my song is full of praise
And
my spirit is steadfast in thee

Sing A Song, Sing A Song!
(Psalm 148)
|
-Praise to the
Lord from all creation- a
The Psalmist declares we are to praise the Lord for
He is great, His love endures forever. Let all the
earth and heavens praise Him with one melodious
voice! |
(Chorus)
Sing
a Song, Sing a Song!
Praise the Lord forever with thanksgiving
Praise His holy name for He is great!
All
creation He has made
Everything that has breath praise Him!
Sing
a Song, Sing a Song!
From
the fishes in the ocean deep
To
the birds on the mountain peak
In
the heavens all the stars will speak and
bow before his throne
Now
the planets and the moon join in
Giving praise as they twirl and spin
What
an orchestra to welcome Him, our
Lord, the God alone
(Chorus)
From
the lion and his mighty roar
To
the lizard on the desert floor
Beasts and bugs alike from shore to shore will
worship as they call
All
the peoples of a foreign land
With
their neighbors joining hand in hand
Never was there such a chorus grand to
praise the Lord of all!
(Chorus)
Every rock and tree will shout His name
Followed by the fire, wind and rain
All
the hilly places and the plains will
honor Him on high
Now
the angels and the saints rejoice
All
together with one single voice
Every where is heard a glorious noise throughout the earth and sky
(Chorus)
